Paramparā

Yoga as Applied Mythology

Paramparā is a Sanskrit word meaning an unbroken transmission—wisdom passed from one generation to the next through relationship.

For centuries, yoga was learned this way: not through mass-produced certification, but through practice, mentorship and shared experience. Knowledge was received, embodied and gradually entrusted to those prepared to carry it forward.

This study honors that tradition.

Rather than a single course, Paramparā is an evolving curriculum. It explores yoga as an embodied encounter with mythology, psychology, philosophy and contemplative practice.

Here, every practice is also a personal story.

You learn to recognize the symbolic patterns shaping your body, relationships and dreams, aligning your life with the rhythms of nature. Ancient teachings become practical tools for understanding the psyche, meeting life’s initiation points and participating more fully in the creative expression of life.

Like a river, Paramparā welcomes you wherever you enter.

Paramparā wasn’t imagined as a ladder to climb. It is a current you return to throughout a lifetime. Each encounter reveals new depths. The water remains the same. Each bend simply offers another way to deepen your relationship with it. Sometimes you enter as an excited student, engaging a single study. Sometimes you return, ready to teach. And sometimes you arrive to discover that the current is flowing through you…and has been all along.

RIVER-BENDS

Choose your way.

Paramparā offers three entryways into the same living body of practice. Whether you are beginning your journey, preparing to teach or taking your vocation into deeper waters, each bend of the current invites you into a different relationship with the tradition.
